Chronological Index of Ensign Articles for
September of 1999
|
On the Labour Day week end the DNS server that hosts our web server collapsed on
Friday night, attempts to revive it Saturday were unsuccessful and it remained out
of service for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. However to add mischief to the miser the
computer and its hard drives used to create Ensign became contaminated with a serious
virus and it became inoperative Tuesday morning and so it was that this week Ensign
was unable to publish until Friday morning when both the server and the computer
had returned to near normal conditions. |

- Monday
September 13, 1999
This is the look of our dampened street this morning at 10:00 as you can see the
trees are rapidly adopting their transitional colours and there is a definite look
of fall. A year ago today Ensign announced the conclusion of harvest, in comparison it would appear that we are now about
65% done but those who planted early are all finished and others will be at it for
some time to come. The rain will actually speed up the process as the Canola will
be in better harvest condition as a result.

Check out a discussion on the concerns about apathy as they relate to the coming
election and to community life in general.

almost cloudless sky. A larger version of this picture and one other will be posted
