Day 2 and I keep hearing a line from "Apocalypse Now" about how the 45 year old character played by Marlon Brando went "humping" his way through boot camp with people half his age. I am the oldest by at least 10 years with Andrea being the youngest. This old body is starting to break down already or at least beginning to rebel. First it is the boots that are so uncomfortable it takes a great deal of suck up the pain just to get around and now my knee has popped out during a hair raising self-arrest simulating a fall headfirst down a very steep slope of a mountain. When it happened the pain and fear was so intense I almost passed out. It was the resurrection of an old injury when a quad-runner ran over my foot and when I tried to pull my foot free, I popped the knee cap out of place. On this mountain there was enormous fear that I would not be able to get up and back to the hut.
