April 5th the road by the golf course descended below the rising water. I foolishly turned the van into a boat and though I did not swamp it, I realised half way through I had made a big mistake and vowed not to pull a stunt like that again. April 5th, the ripples on the golf course lake are from the van's movement over the submerged road. April 5th the ice was not clogging up the bridge and moved on its way north. April 5th. There was a lot of water out there.

No houses were even close to the water of this year's swollen Doghide. North of town on the old highway the river was behaving itself and keeping inside its banks. April 5 April 5,. from the old highway bridge the river was right at its full capacity. April 5 the delta beyond the old bridge handled the run off and was pretty much drying up the next day.

April 5th out on highway #3 by Valparasio the ice was causing a little trouble for the huge culvers which were running right full, but no flooding. April 5th. The ice flows would crunch up against the culverts bounce around a bit then break up and vanish into the vortex. On April 6th the Doghide was shrinking and the geese where out surveying the results and admiring the bits of ice left behind. April 7th North of town the Doghide is full and peaceful.
