I have always thought it intersting that the Presbyterian church had this weather
vain atop its steeple instead of a cross. |
April 2, standing in the new town square the evidence of winter is fast disappearing. |
April 2, across the street the neighbours have come home from their winter stay in
the British Columbian souther interior in time to see the snow slip from the new
yard. |
April 2nd only days ago this scene had a sold ridge of snow along the street now
the sidewalk is accessible for the first time since fall. |

April 2nd the price of gasoline in Tisdale is rising with the descent of the snow. |
I am a bit surprised at the failure of the Canadian dollar to keep its viertical
momentum going and therebye keep the price of gasoline moderate. After all as oil
prices rise Canada which supplies 60% of the United States' crude oil is in a windfall
situation. |
Friday at noon Reuters news agency jumped ahead in time reporting the death of Pope
John Paul who indeed sucumbed on Saturday. Tisdale has a large Roman Catholic population
and we extend our thoughts and praiyers to them at the loss of their church leader. |

the clay beneath is even worse. |

In some places pot holes just have to be dug up and with Regina's clay, whichis pretty
much the same stuff as we have in in Tisdale the stuff just slumps. |
A crack gets water, freezes and the ices expands to make a bigger crack and soon
the pavement become dust. |
In this part of Regina the top soil is between thirty and forty feet deep. |
Even driveways take the same kind of beating as we see here in Tisdale as Regina's
soft clay flexes. |

April 5th the Doghide had swollen considerably and hit its highest level for the
year. |
Fortunately there was not an ice problem and the water spread out then made its way
north. |
It looks serious but this area get a good soaking every year. |
