You will notice the unique weather vane atop the steeple, unlike many Christian churches which top their buildings with a cross, this one has a practical weather device. In a country side where twenty-two inches of precipitation is the norm, placing it close to a desert climate, the steeply pitched roof of this building clearly indicates its roots in the wet climate of Northern Europe. The details of this building including the interesting little round window seen above on the church's East side, the little gabled roof sections and sturdy wood buttresses all identify this building's special and historical roots. In a future article we will give you a view of the building's interior. |
