The Presbyterian Church traces its roots back to the early days of the Protestant movement, to the Scot preacher John Knox and the Swiss preacher John Calvin. Spread across Canada and the United States the psalm reading Presbyterian Protestant church has been a solid conservative element in the wide spectrum of Christianity. In the 1920 the United Church of Canada was formed from the Presbyterian, Congregational and Methodist churches across the country but some Presbyterians could not see themselves comfortable in uniting and chose to go their own way. Only a few communities have Presbyterian Church congregations and one of the most unique is Bekavar a Hungarian Presbyterian Congregations East of Kipling in the South Eastern portion of the Province. | |
