While fibre line construction continues East of town West of Town SaskTel and Shemenko
Construction is installing more circuits to handle UGG's new terminal at Valparaiso.
Additional 25 pare lines are being installed producing more capacity West of Tisdale.
This process of expanded service is a direct result of development and increased
demand for communications connections in the Tisdale area. While the demand increases it is interesting to note that higher speed data connection capabilities were installed in both Nipawin and Melfort offering ISDN service to both communities but not to Tisdale. The highest speed connection in Tisdale is dual 56 lines which are requires the use of two lines and the inherent cost of them while ISDN provides 50% more capacity on a single line. For the telephone voice user this is not an issue but if you are moving data a 50% increase in capacity is a big deal. It is good to see SaskTel putting in additional equipment and increased capabilities. Positive preventative preparation for the future. |
