SaskTel is beefing up their infrastructure in the Tisdale area. A new fibre line was just installed down to Sylvania and work is proceeding on upgrading the fibre line from Tisdale to Hudson Bay. Though fibre optics lines were already in place to Hudson Bay, the new line is upgraded and carries a much larger volume of traffic. Each roll of cable goes about five kilometres and is spliced. Above and on the next page is this spicing process.
