Tamarack Presbytery Report |
Tamarack Presbytery of the United Church covers North Central and Northeast Saskatchewan from Big River to Hudson Bay from LaRonge to Naicam. . There are 17 pastoral charges, 3 of which are shared ministries- with Lutheran and/or Anglican Churches. The presbytery is composed of ministry personal and lay delegates. They are responsible for the care and assistance of the pastoral charges and the programs (like Camp Tapawingo, Parkland Restorative Care, the Red Deer Hill Lay Leaders Learning Fund , ten Tamarack Youth sent to the Youth Conference and more programs) that go on in our extended community. This year we welcomed three new ministers to Tamarack Presbytery: Brock Shaver at Partners in Faith Spiritwood, Jacqueline Samson at Hudson Bay and Sharon Ferguson Hood at St. Paul's Tisdale. Tamarack Presbytery is composed of four Divisions: |
Each division has both ministerial and lay representatives who work on that division. This year the Presbytery voted on and carried four motions that will be addressed at General Council in 2015. Presbytery Meetings this year have been at: |
St Paul's was represented at each of these. Please consent to be one of St. Paul's lay delegates for the next year. We can send three but usually only one attends. The church is changing. If we want to understand what is happening in the United Church of Canada we need to be an active part of the change. |
