ST. PAUL’S 2014 VISITATION COMMITTEE REPORT |
Committee members: Vera Billy, Natalie Rowley, Edith Dahl, Nora Teale, Mildred Staples, May & Terry Bilash and Dennis Scutchings (has retired to devote more time on Finance and Property Committee). Vera Billy – takes Sunday bulletins, annual reports, income tax receipts, newsletters and also delivers prayer shawls - she visits at Cedar Villa (Norman Moulding, Evelyn Smith) and Carole Andrusiack and the Shires. Natalie Rowley – delivers bulletins, annual reports, income tax receipts and newsletters to residents of McKay Tower (Mabel McPhee), Madision Condo (Alice Moen, Dot Brown and Jean Brownridge), The Meadows ( Inger Madsen, Ethel Franklin), shut-ins Joukje Will and Mary McCarter. Visited Kay Wingham and presented her with a prayer shawl. Sadly Ed Wells & Myrle Dunkley passed away this year. Edith Dahl – takes bulletins, annual reports, income tax receipts and newsletters to members at Sasko Park Lodge (Grace Anne Hodginson, Mary Kovach, Joanne Magnus, Vera Wilson, Helen Cole and Emma Baird). Sadly we lost – Pearle Mievre, Tom Bone, Doris Brooks and Maize Parbst. In July/14 Emma Baird moved to her new cottage at Newmarker Place also others have moved. I visit Joyce Lawrence, Ruby Senical and Pauline Stephenson. Shut-in Dora Armstrong goes to Day Care Activities so I visited her on Mar. 7/14 at World Day of Prayer at Newmarket Manor then at the Christmas Party held at Newmarket Place Dec. 3/14. Nora Teale and Mildred Staples do a lot of visits by phone (Ted Lee, Carole Skauge, Lorna Rathgeber and Winnie Stevenson). Nora visits at Caleb. Mildred continues to visit people at Cedar Villa. Sadly Marion Fargey passed away this year. May and Terry Bilash continue to visit and deliver cards signed by members of the congregation for Special Birthdays, Get Wells and Sympathy. They also visit shut-ins with annual reports and newsletters. UCW units also send get well & sympathy cards for their members. Dennis Scutchings- has visited people in hospital and church members Angus and Ruth McBain, Jack and Gwen Walker, Ron and Rita McKeith and Wilfred Shields. Other people who did visiting were Margaret Mehler, Leila Rooke and Deanna Gruending visiting Joukje Will and Helen Cole. We would like to thank the Ladies who so willingly make up the prayer shawls – as recepiants are extremely pleased and very thankful for your caring and thoughtfulness, so please keep up the good work. The VISITATION book is very useful just to see who we’ve visited and maybe who we’ve missed. If there is anyone who needs a visit please phone May Bilash at the office - 306 873 2424.
