March 25/15 – We served soup and sandwiches at Lenten Services at the Golden Age Centre. Rev. Sharon did worship – United Church choir helped with the singing.
April 25/15 – Ellen Burgess & Edith Dahl attended “Spring Renewal” Presbyterial Mtg. at Shellbrook – 28 attended. Blizzard conditions faced us on the way home. Thanks Ellen for getting us safely home!
May 2/15 and December 5/15 – we held our usual Spring & Christmas Teas totalling -$2644.40. We also held Spring & Fall Rummage Sales - $5965.45.
UCW IS UNITING – at our Pot Luck Supper Mtg. Sept. 23/15 both units 7 & 9 amalgamated with General UCW to form one “UCW”. Eleven ladies attended along with our guest Rev. Sharon. Upon amalgamation – Unit #9 handed in $76.00. Unit #7 decided to pay $232.00 to Sharon and Ken Whiting for paint etc. to do the lower hall in the basement. Thanks again for the job well done. Then we gave St. Paul’s Memorial Fund $313.81, and a memorial donation for Nora Teale - $35.00 and sponsored Church Bulletins at St. Paul’s - $300.00.
UCW ladies attended and donated items for the Silent Auction for the Nepal Fundraiser Nov. 7/15 – it was a great evening.
UCW – donated 6 pies for the “Emergency Services Appreciation” event Nov. 13/15 at the Golden Age Centre. This event was sponsored by the Tisdale Ministerial Assn. – all churches were involved along with community organizations – the Legion and Knights of Columbus.
UCW ladies have sponsored bulletin covers and did visitations to members in hospital and nursing homes.
Special thanks to May who makes up posters, signs, schedules and e-mails for us.
Our donations mainly go to St. Paul’s.
For 2016 we are giving $8,500.00 to St. Paul’s and to M&S Fund $1,500.00. Other donations go to Camp Tapawingo, St. Andrews College and Bursary, TACACL (Collective Kitchen), Northeast Early Childhood Development, Tisdale Renal Dialysis, Northeast Outreach Support & Services and Chums.
