The look of winter

FTLComm - Tisdale - Sunday, December 22, 2002

The arrival of winter is, as I pointed out a couple of days ago, something that seems to be a sudden awareness for everyone.

The sky has remained overcast for four days straight and though not really much in general on the town's streets and driveways the snow cover seems significant. It will be a long time at this rate before the swathes in the fields are covered.

But is definitely enough to get the snow machines running at that brings the need to remind all snow mobilers to avoid fields with unharvested swathes. We all assume they are pretty well ruined but out of courtesy it would be best to stay off them.

The swirls from blowing snow have decorated these elementary school

trees.

Over beside the Co-op this snow pile was a ready made recreational area for three youngsters today.

But there is a grandness about winter. The snow caught on the branches of the trees along the Doghide (below) really tell us that this is the way winter looks.
