Annual storm rips across the prairie |
||||||
FTLComm - Tisdale - Friday July 18, 2003 | ||||||
As it happened exactly one year ago last night we went to dinner at Sweet Aroma in Tisdale and promptly after a great meal the sky turned dark, a nasty storm developed and the power went off for half an hour. This year as we parked in front of the restaurant the sky was covered with very disturbing looking clouds and on the radio severe storm watch warnings had been given for most of the province. The meal, just as it had been the year before, was exceptional and when we emerged from the restaurant the sky was even darker. We drove West of Tisdale then North a mile and took the picture above of the western sky. To the North there were heavy dark blue clouds and shafts of lightening. Below is a QuickTime virtual reality scene taken from the roadway just North of Tisdale's Alfalfa dehydration plant. (To see this image it is necessary to have QuickTime loaded into your computer, the download is free and very easy to install. Once in your computer it will do its job without any care and feeding) |
