Things are going well with my classes and everything. The heat is killing me. The
computer lab was shut down this week because of an epidemic of pink eye. Its really
rare here and I tried to explain to my sisters that its not that big of a deal and
is easily cured.
I went bungee jumping last weekend and I also climbed the volcano.
It was really tough and when we were standing
on the top we were 14,000 feet high. It was hard to get used to the air and when
the day was over I had the worst headache ever.
The first chain CD store opened up in the mall last week and it was a very different
opening. They had a banquet in the mall and tequila was served and everyone was dressed
very elegantly. A priest gave a sermon in front of the store and then he handed out
flowers with holy water on them and people went in a splashed water on the CDs and
the floor. After that people were allowed in the store. Apparently this is what happens
everytime a new store is opened here and my friends thought it was weird that we
don't do this in Canada.
