John Bob Farm Equipment has taken delivery of one of the new series of large field tractors developed by New Holland. Sitting on the lot this monster with its twelve tires and three hundred seventy=five horse power looks well beyond what might be described as big. In this picture we see it in the same scene with a garden tractor and a medium sized chore tractor and when you consider that medium size tractor dwarfs equipment of three decades ago the massive TJ series machine is off the scale. While you are doing that try to put into perspective the amount of land you would need to have under cultivation at today's grain prices to keep up payments on this kind of machinery. Clearly, this and machinery like it are intended for the needs of today's agricultural economy and that economy does not include anything like a family farm.
