If We Were Meant To Be Unhappy. . . |
FTLComm - Tisdale - Thursday, March 14, 2002 |
I know the words don't fit exactly, I changed "bright golden haze" to "Bright White haze on the meadow," but didn't know what to do about the "corn being as high as an elephant's eye" but this morning that song from Roger's and Hamerstein's Oklahoma, "Oh What a beautiful morning" covered the feeling one had as the sun was pouring across the countryside and behind to the West the castilanus (fair weather cumulus) clouds began to fill the sky. |
Above main street was drenched in sunlight at 0800 but by 0900 when Mr. Styan and Renaud were sweeping away the dust from last night, the sky was filled with the wet clouds that had slid over top of the cold arctic air sitting on the prairie. This is the beginning of spring folks. |
North of town at Wolf Creek Dave Morgan's cattle were finishing breakfast and traffic on the highway was light. It looks like an RM to the North is stock piling gravel for the summer as load after load of gravel have been rolling through town North up #35 for the past three days. But, we are crossing the line today. The quasi-stationary front between winter and |
not winter is moving, moving North. It is just about to us and soon it will march North taking with it what little snow we have and behind it warm wet winds from the Pacific. Perhaps, we will see a storm or two, that would be normal, but this one is on its way out. If we were not meant to be unhappy would there be a sky like this. |
