FTLComm - Tisdale - Monday, June 11, 2007 | |||||
Civil aviation is alive and well in Tisdale this past weekend as the Tisdale Aviation Association held its annual fly-in breakfast. The weather was typical of early June with temperature of 10ºC and light rain. But that did not dampen the spirits or cut down on the large number of aircraft that journeyed to Tisdale to take part in the event. Most noteable among the attendees was this (right) Harvard II trainer from CFB Moose Jaw. |

There were several beautiful hand crafted home built machines on the field and some impressive vintage machines. Above is a 1959 Cessna 182 from Prince Albert with a three blade prop and taxiing in on the right is a 1946 Cessna 140 from Calgary. While we were looking on a Melfort homebuilt ultralight made its way to departure (below). This is a Quad City Challenger II, the kit comes from Moline Illinois and is one of more than 3,000 examples of this aircraft flying. |
