FTLComm - Tisdale - February 17, 1999 |
One of the traditions that seems somewhat obscure is the eating of pancakes for supper on Shrove Tuesday. We always did it in my home when I was growing up and my wife has continued the tradition. However in more than one community I have lived in one or more of the churches has made it a social occasion and in most cases the supper is prepared and served by the men of the congregation. This was our practice in Watson Lake Yukon and as you can see the men of St. Paul's United Church in Tisdale have the same tradition. Delicious pancakes and Co-op sausage with a variety of syrups, coffee and juice and excellent company. |
