FTLComm - la Ronge - March 28, 2001 by: Judy Shire |
Canadians live huddled along the US border with only a tiny fraction of the population living in the almost entirely empty country. Most of what is called "Canada" lies in either the Precambrian Shield or Canada's Alpine area. So when you look at Judy Shire's pictures shown on this page and taken last evening in la Ronge this is the sort of scenery you could find from St. John's to Whitehorse and everywhere in between. |
The silhouetted
Jack Pine trees against the setting sun the boulders in a mix of conifer and poplar,
or this last picture with skidoo trails along side a highway. This picture is taken just North of la Ronge looking South. We need very much to change our attitude about our country, and with summer coming maybe this is the year you take your family vacation by looking into the vast wilderness of Northern Canada. Each province from Quebec to BC is 85% wilderness and all of it worth exploring and learning about. |
