Jim Sego, Provincial President of the Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan visited the Tisdale Chapter on Monday, October 20. The meeting was held in the Anglican Church Hall and consisted of a pot luck noon meal, a brief business meeting and then a question and answer session with the provincial president.
Tisdale Chapter President Bob Donnan welcomed everyone, especially the provincial president and his wife, Carole, and our guests from the Nipawin and Red Deer River Valley Chapters.
Items discussed during the business section were the 55 Alive course that Melfort Chapter is hosting and has invited Tisdale Chapter members to attend on October 30 (contact Darlene McCullough for more information), and the dinner theatre in Sylvania on November 22 (contact Maureen Donald for more information).
Ten year membership pins were presented to Dennis Dahlsjo, Lil Hunchak, and Lois Marsh. BJ and Kathy Madsen were not present to receive their pins. Also not present was Eleanor Alyea who has earned a key fob for twenty years of membership in the Tisdale Chapter of STS.
Darlene McCullough then introduced Jim Sego, the guest speaker. Jim answered members' questions on membership, the group benefits plans currently being negotiated with Blue Cross, the In memoriam column in Outreach, and the upcoming Chapter Presidents' Meeting to be held in Saskatoon on November 1. Tisdale Chapter President Bob Donnan then presented the provincial president with a gift of honey as a memento of his trip to Tisdale.
