 Though Tisdale has had many craft shows in the past the idea of a hobby show was a new idea and originally the plan was to have an agricultural toy show but there was a lot of interest by other collectors and hobbyists and the show was expanded to include various other collections and models. As a model aircraft type individual I was disappointed that no planes made it to the show but there was one radio controlled ground vehicle display and an absolutely sumptous display of plastic model cars and vehicles.  prize examples and I thought it looked so good I thought I would set it in a realistic situation. There were arrow heads, a great postcard collection, knives, buckles, pucks, a grouchy lady knitting hats, candy and of course the main event were the tractor collections. Die cast tractors of all vintages some to show and many by dealers to sell. Though the working steam engine was pretty impressive my favourite of the show were the absolutely incredible scratch built combines, swathers and a complex air seeder. Many of the exhibitors had come a long way to be part of the show including Thomas and Delores Matt from Kelliher. Everything has to start at some point and I look forward to next year's show because once the word gets out about this outstanding event it will be a major attraction next year. To get this project going the Golden Age Centre donated the use of their facility for the event and provided coffee. I am certain that next year the show will have to move to the RECPlex because it will need much more space. To look around click on the series of pictures below to see them in their larger format. |
