The example of the Federal Cabinet

How many of us in debt to the point interest is taking a 20% bite out of our income, our driveway is in need of repair, our medical plan inadequate protection system dilapidated protection system and possessing four vehicles we're advised are perfectly serviceable, would buy two new ones?

Very few, only those following the example of the Federal Cabinet's choosing to spend $101 million on the purchase of two luxury airplanes, in disregard of the opinion of Gen. Ray Henault, the Chief of Defence Staff who, less than three months before, informed the Prime Minister that

"Given that there are no identifiable trends or problems with this fleet and given the high dispatch reliability of the Challenger, it is recommended that remedial action such as fleet modernization or replacement is not warranted at this time." *

The rest of us would forego satisfying our wants and apply our resources where they are needed.
