Is rushing through the spending of $100 million on the last day of the fiscal year on a purchase all advice said was unnecessary in an irregular manner too small an expenditure to come to the notice of the Finance Minister? | ||||||

If the answer be yes, then Finance Minister Paul Martin effectively had no control over spending. | ||||||

If no, if he was aware he shares the blame for diverting funds from needed purchases of the Canadian Forces to satisfy Cabinet wants, the updating of luxury jets. | ||||||

Whether he was aware and complicit or ignorant of the fast tracking of the purchase of posh new jets cannot be determined in the House of Commons. No longer Finance Minister, he cannot be questioned. | ||||||
