Calling upon "democracy-loving Canadians" to rally against changing to a government that "would be at the mercy of those committed to destroying Canada" and applying the terms "overthrow the government" and "seize power", to an action Stephen Harper sought to negotiate when Leader of the Opposition, are both incendiary and the height of hypocrisy. "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" or, rather, false patriotism. "Rally for Canada" is such a refuge being sought by supporters of the Harper Government. An attempt to stir patriotism against a coalition of political parties holding a majority of seats in the House of Commons and, through such, being enabled by Parliamentary custom to recommend the Prime Minister of Canada to the Governor General. |

The action of seeking to launch rallies against legitimate change among a people already shaken by a world wide economic crisis that places them in fear of their livelihoods can be described as nothing else than the last refuge of scoundrels seeking to maintain power at any cost. |
