There is no need to wait for a water line to give out and send water bubbling to the surface in the dead of winter. Town crews were aware of the crumbling nature of this aging line in the oldest part of town (one block North of the CP line) and on Tuesday they dug up the intersection and replaced the old crumbling pipes with new material. This is a major excavation as the whole line that crosses the street had to be replaced and as you can see from these pictures it was a deep hole.
