FTLComm - Tisdale - Sunday, December 1, 2002 | ||||||
Tisdale continues to develop its industrial production and as
Nuform Packaging expands the warehouse of raw material continues to fill as we see
material set out front and the picture above shows pallets of telephone books that
have done their duty and its time for them to begin a new life. With all the talk about the Kyoto Protocol we need to be reminded that efficient use of products like wood pulp makes huge energy conservation sense. Nuform pulps the recycled paper products and the only energy consumed by the whole process is the drying of the finished product and since the heat comes from natural gas the combustion emissions are mostly water. This pile of material has been accumulating on the West side of the Nuform plant as the company is getting ready for a larger production run of its new tree protection product that is now into mass distribution with the only competition being much more expensive and less environment friendly rubber rings. The Nuform product is made from a mixture of recycled paper and flax straw which is what this pile is and the ring has a life of ten years after which it simply biodegrades into the surrounding soil. |
