Plans to build a Dairy Queen between the Tisdale 7-11 and the Co-op
Cardlock have been abandoned and the property sold to Beeland Co-op. Chupa
Excavation is in the process of raising the level of the lot to match the cardlock
yard laying down a base of rock and today gravel. The lot will be finished in the
same gravel surface as the cardlock and it is expected that the Co-op will
use the site to show off its agricultural equipment. So by spring this new area will
have a crop of augers and perhaps a steel bin or two.
There is a bit of irony in this story as the Beeland Co-op which for years
has sold soft ice cream at its restaurant has shut down its machine and with a sign
announced that it will no longer be selling soft ice cream.
