Roy Romanow: The Ultimate Electoral Number Game In Education |
|
By Mario deSantis, August 29, 1999 |
|
Premier Roy Romanow is trying to cheat again the Saskatchewan people and pull another electoral
victory under his phony vision of "Building a bright future together the Saskatchewan way"(1).
Roy Romanow doesn't have integral values(2) to support his vision of the Saskatchewan Way, and
therefore he is going to support it with his preferred strategy of the number game(3).
The Saskatchewan Way in education has meant the hasty planning & building of the Synchrotron
in Saskatoon at the expense of proper funding for the universities(4), the reallocation of funding
from the Millenium Fund to alleviate university student fees(5), and now Roy Romanow is
promising free tuition fees(6) to students entering post secondary educational institutions at the
expense of every other student(7). Roy Romanow is really a magician who is always able to pull a
magic card from the inside of his sleeves and cheat at the same time the electorate and his party
members. Let us hope that this September he can't cheat us anymore.
