This year's crop have been for the most part in the ground now for a full four weeks and is already starting to show promise. The picture above appears to be on land that has been worked up but the two pictures below were clearly planted right into stubble and seem to be doing fine. The big issue for this year's crop is moisture, growing conditions are good right now with some residual moisture from the winter still available but there is need for some precipitation to put the plants up in the worked up fields were drying has occurred much quicker then in the stubble fields.

The field above and this one below are a mile East and a mile South of Tisdale. Both have a solid germination level with outstandingly even look to them. The new crop stands about four inches tall in most cases were it lawn grass it would be time for the first mowing. Though the sky looks like it could rain in these pictures taken Sunday afternoon the temperatures are remaining fairly low and not that much day time heating is occurring Sunday saw temperatures of only about 15 and today with a heavy over cast the temperature will likely stay about the same. Though there is humidity in those clouds and the potential for rain the lack of heat is not producing the rising warm air that produces the conditions for showers.
