So, What about a tree?

FTLComm - Tisdale - Wednesday, December 11, 2002

This morning I took the picture above of the Douglas Fir trees at Beeland Co-op. Get ready, these guys are priced at $40.00.

Down at the car wash on the South side of Tisdale Scotch pines are $44 while the spruce are just around $20.

Last Saturday night when I drove
around town I was surprised at the number of homes that already have Christmas trees up in their homes.

Throughout the years, now over three decades, my wife and I have had some incredible problems, outstanding adventures and a few mishaps with Christmas tree selection. One Christmas I left it until Christmas eve and then set out to get a tree and alas that year no tree was to be decorated in our house.

I can easily see why people go for the artificial trees as they certainly do away with the adventure of selection but for all the trauma and confusion we decided that when we left the Yukon and returned to Saskatchewan in 1986 we would have only live trees.

So I am going to chew on this problem for a few more days, let's see, I have twelve more days to decide.
