There''s hope for the SAAN store |

FTLComm - Tisdale - Friday, April 1, 2005 | ||||||
Wednesday was the last day for Tisdale and all other
SAAN stores as they finished selling off all of their stock. The company that purchased
SAAN wanted to clear out the stock then make a decision as to which stores would
remain open and which would be closed. It is known that LaRonge and The Pas stores were among those chosen to remain in business but nothing certain was announced about the rest of the stores across the country. On Wednesday a source told me that he said that Tisdale was more than 90% sure of re-opening and on Thursday morning the sign shown at the top of the page was placed in the windows of the now empty store. Though the staff of the Tisdale store are believed to have been laid off the sign gives us all some hope that indeed the word "reopen" means just that. The staff is to be commended for the outstanding effort right up until the last hour of operation the way they kept the stock presentable and were so professional in clearing out the store's entire inventory. The picture below was taken at around 11:30 Wednesday morning and just a few lady's clothing items remained to be sold yet the store was immaculate. The manager warned me not to take any pictures but I felt that you needed to see this scene and took the picture anyway. I submit that stores with video survailence systems invade the privacy of their customers and it seems only fair to over ride their claim to being private property when in fact they are really a public place by virtue of their cameras. We will keep a close eye on this business and let you know as soon as it is clear if the store is history or is reopening. |
