House Number 4 - Resurrection

FTLComm - Tisdale - Wednesday, June 18, 2003

Two doors West of Fast Gas the elderly house (above) was brought to its final day June 7th but there was time for workers to salvage anything that could be used from the structure. It was then wrecked and hauled away to the landfill site.

On June 10 preparations were made for the basement (right and below) as care was taken to preserve the trees on the lot.

This site has the open view of the CP rail line, highway #3 and the bustle of Tisdale around the highway junction.

By June 16 the basement was in the final stage of excavation (right) and on the 17th the forms were in place and the concrete poured for the foundation (below).

The destruction and replacement of older homes with new ones is a particularly healthy thing for a community as it preserves the utilisation of the services and continues to upgrade the town's value with out sprawl and inner devaluation. One other outstanding feature of this kind of development is to continue to foster a pluralist society with mixed incomes and expectations in life.

As with other projects we will keep you posted as this one develops.
