Even bricks eventually fall down |

FTLComm - Tisdale - Wednesday, July 20, 2005 | ||||||
A solid little birkc warehouse stood for most of the life of Tisdale just east and down the street from the post office. In the ten years we have lived in Tisdale it has been unused and this morning it was knocked down. Though it appeared to be made from bricks, only portions of the building were of brick construction the walls were actually made from interlocking tiles made at Medicine Hat. The concrete base of the building consists of an exterior concrete wall filled with gravel and topped with a concrete floor. The whole structure including the base was destroyed and hauled away. |

The whole process of constant renewal is important to the vitality of the community and unused buildings are a deterent to development. The ESSO service station on the Mall parking lot was destroyed almost two months ago by fire and remains a shambles. It is to be hoped that it is either soon repaired and restored to operation or destroyed because it simply makes the town look run down, which is definitely not good for business. |
