Six foot one inch, 170 pound Wishart native, Cody Straker has become a member of the "AAA" Midget Trojans.
Cody turns eighteen this March as a first year midget. He is a right shooting defenceman who played with Watson "AA" Rockets this past year where he scored twelve goals and thirty-one assists.
During this thirty eight games this past season he achieved the dubious record of spending 278 minutes in the penalty box, which means he spend a full half of his playing time making his team short handed.
Cody lists fighting as the main aspect of hockey he enjoys and sites Ti Domi as his favourite NHL player.
The Trojans have won only four games this season and registered seven ties. Many Trojan fans are critical of this year's team for getting penalties and being unable to adjust to the changed rules of the game. Scoring opportunities are afforded the opposition while they are shorthanded and in many instances power plays are squandered with penalties coming when they have a one or two man advantage.
The Trojans last won a hockey game November 5.
